ABOUT OUR CHAPTERThe Heritage Chapter was chartered in 2007. The HERITAGE Chapter serves all of the following Zip codes: Stafford Counties(22403, 22405, 22406, 22554, 22556, 22555, 22470) - - Spotsylvania Counties (22407, 22408, 22551, 22553) - - City of Fredricksburg (22401,22402, 22404) - - Millwood, and Woodford zip codes in Caroline County and the Quantico (22134) - - Dumfries, Montclair (22024, 22026), and Triangle Zip Codes in Prince William County Bealton Zip Code in Fauquier County We are a relatively new Chapter with approximately 75+ (50% growth from 2010) members supporting the miltary officer community through social and professional networking, education, promoting awareness of MOAA National, State and local initiatives and through community service locally and supporting our military troops. The Chapter holds monthly dinner meetings featuring an invited guest speaker. We publish a monthly newsletter, the Guardian. Chapter Web Site is http://www.moaaheritagechapter.net
MISSIONThe mission of the MOAA Virginia Heritage Chapter is to benefit the members of the uniformed services, their families and survivors and to advocate for a strong national defense, while providing needed support to the community and its members.
CHAPTER ACTIVITIESThe Heritage Chapter holds 10 monthly meetings each year that normally include dinner and a guest speaker. A special Christmas party is held in December, usually shared with another MOAA Chapter. We are active participants in Virginia and National MOAA events such as Stormin' the Hill, The Chapter awards two $1000 scholarships to JROTC members in high schools located in our area. We support the activities of "The Blue Star Mothers" and participate in the Honor Flight Program at the Muesum of the U.S. Marine Corps at Quantico.
