The Heritage Hunt Chapter of MOAA is dedicated to serving the interests of ALL active duty, retired, National Guard, Reserve, former commissioned officers, and warrant officers of the uniformed services - Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Public Health Service, and NOAA, as well as their spouses and survivors. The Heritage Hunt Chapter has been a chartered affiliate of MOAA since July 2009.
The chapter sponsors a wide range of programs and activities. Highlights as follows:
• Our Program Committee sponsors periodic social events for members, spouses and guests.
• Our Legislative Committee promotes state and national legislation in the interests of service members, active and retired, enlisted personnel, officers, their dependents and survivors.
• Our Personal Affairs Committee is always standing by to “take care of our own.”
• The Chapter sponsors JROTC Programs at Battlefield, Liberty, Stonewall Jackson, and Osbourn Park High Schools. Annual MOAA JROTC Medals are presented to distinguished cadets in these high schools. The Chapter awards a $500.00 scholarship to a graduating senior at each of these schools continuing ROTC at the college level.
• Our Community Relations Committee supports the Honor Flight Program for WWII veterans, support for veterans residing in the Gainesville Health and Rehabilitation Center, support for the Heritage Hunt blood drive and support to the Red Cross assisting soldiers admitted to the Fort Belvoir Community Hospital.
• The Chapter is an IRS-approved 501(C)(19) War Veterans organization. All donations to the Chapter are tax deductible to the donor.
